Fat In The Forties
Dinesh Mohan looks fit and fab now but if you look at his old pictures you will see an average looking fat man. Yes, he was just a common man who had gained 135 kg in his 40s. With no goals, no goals and no motivation in life, he spent almost all his time eating and lying in bed. There was nothing else he would do which apparently led to enormous weight gain. He will find it difficult to move even an inch. Dinesh Mohan recalls, "Going out to buy something 100 meters from home felt like winning a gold medal. You can guess the level of laziness and frustration he was dealing with at the time. No friends, no social life and no emotional support make things worse for him. People started shaming him because of his weight gain and physical appearance, from which he used to isolate himself completely.
Weight Gain, Diseases And Mental Health
If you consistently gain weight and don't work to manage it, you are putting yourself at risk for physical and mental health problems. He became depressed by the separation and abandonment of life. He used to find solace in food and therefore, whenever he felt low or sad, he would eat and repeat. In his words, "he will destroy everything he finds in the house." Sharing an incident, he told us that there was a day when he could not get out of bed. He tried more than 20 times to get up but in vain! On consulting a doctor, he found that he had benign positional vertigo which is a condition in which a person loses body balance in a particular position. It was a red flag that he took it seriously.
How Has Self-Realization Helped In Dealing With Body Weight Issues?
Finally, one day he realized that he needed to work on his body in order to lead a meaningful life. Slow and steady wins the race and that's how Mr. Mohan paves his way to success. Change in Eating Habits- First of all, first of all, adopt a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy and clean food. According to experts, 80% of weight management is done through dietary modifications. Mr. Mohan turned to healthy eating and it showed amazing results as he lost almost 50 kgs in 8 months.
Physical Activity- Slowly he started working out and it made him fit in his fifties. When people started praising his transformation, only then he started looking in the mirror again. It gave him the much-needed confidence boost.
From 135kg to 80kg: The Journey So Far
He joined the modeling industry at the age of 57. It is supposed to be the retirement age but it was just the beginning for them.
